Why relationships matter?

Can we individuals live isolated from the rest of the world? We cannot. Day by day we meet new people with whom we engage in some forms. We build fantastic relationships with some, while with others we will have just one-off encounter.

Relationships make life worthwhile. During our lifetime, we make friends, acquittance, partnerships and eventually we get married. All these connections are made through a very close relationship.

People do not want to spend their life alone and miserable. Everyone needs a friend, a soul mate, a partner or a confidant. In order to do that, you will have to learn how to build and maintain a good relationship.

How to succeed in relationships

Relationships can survive only if they are based on a few common characteristics. In my experience, happy relationship is about give and take. First of all, you should talk to your partner about everything. The two of you should see the relationship as an opportunity to grow and learn about each other. The more you share your feelings, thoughts, ideas, dreams and wants with your partner, the better chances you have to start your relationship with a positive attitude. You will learn to know how the other party feels in certain situations. You will understand your partner's emotions, feelings, facial expressions and moods.

Read my story

We learn from other people and their life experiences. I will share mine.

I met a guy through the Internet dating RSVP 8 years ago. We did click straight away. We had a long chat and we did realize that we met the 'right one'. We went through the dating phase for 6 months. Since the chemistry was there, we decided to move in together. We looked for a rental place, looked at some and we just fell in love with a nice house. Paid the bond, move in and decorated the house as we pleased. Everything was wonderful!!! What a nice start. I thought I was the luckiest girl in the entire world! He had nothing financially, but who cared?!? He was handsome, nice to me and treated me well ( and my cat!). We agreed that we will tell each other if we have any issues or we do not like something about each other. We promised each other that we will sit down and discuss any problems as soon as they arise. But, we didn't keep our promises. Bad mistake.

The dream ended soon. $ years later, we started to drift away. We did spend less and less time together and finally we ended up living in the same house as two strangers.

My advice

Do not ever let problems unresolved in your relationship. Discuss your concerns with your partner as soon as they occur and you will potentially have a loving and fulfilling relationship.
